Marco Asensio wasn't the only promising young talent flourishing during last nights El Clasico, as Mateo Kovacic excelled from the middle of the park including a filthy piece of skill on Sergio Busquets.

Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-0 at the Bernabeu following the 3-1 victory at the Camp Nou. The 5-1 aggregate score ensured the Los Blancos successfully lifted their 10th Super Cup in the clubs history.

Goals from Asensio then Karim Benzema secured the victory and the clubs second piece of silverware this season. Zinedine Zidane and Co. are also fresh off winning the UEFA Super Cup against Manchester United.

While Asensio's incredible strike has garnered plenty of attention, Kovacic's effortless skill on Busquets shouldn't go unnoticed.

Sit down.

Kovacic is being tipped to replace fellow countryman Luka Modric once he eventually calls time on his career.

The 31-year-old is arguably the best central midfield player on the planet, and while his absence will be a big loss, Kovacic is waiting in the wings to fill his proverbially large boots.

Needless to say, the Croatians wizardry was the talk of social media.

Unlucky, Sergio.
