HOW HAS HE NOT SCORED?!

You can't be a beat a miss of the season contender and Brentford's Neal Maupay has provided us with the sitter of all sitters today.

Playing against Cardiff City away from home in the Championship, the 21-year old, formerly of Nice and Saint-Etienne, was presented with a golden opportunity when his teammate pinched the ball off a Cardiff defender and nipped in before the goalkeeper to find him free in the box.

But somehow, the French youth international failed find the net and it takes some serious analysis to work out how he did not score.

For starters, he has the chance to shoot almost straight away after receiving the ball - and his touch actually sets him up nicely for the finish.

Granted, a defender does do very well to get back in on the line but he only covers one side of the goal; the same side that Maupay opts to shoot at.

You'd cut him some slack if the defender produced an inspired last-ditch block but that's not the case as embarrassingly, he doesn't even got his effort on target and fires wide.

To make matters worse, Cardiff went straight up the other end and scored. Here's how fans reacted to the absolute howler, with many quite rightly viewing it as 'miss of the season':
