Against Sevilla today, Real Madrid have looked like the all-conquering side we were accustomed to seeing blow away teams last term, completely ripping the Andalusian side apart at the Bernabeu and winning 5-0.

Nacho Fernandez put Zinedine Zidane's side ahead in the 3rd minute against the fifth-placed side and Real went goal-crazy in the first half of the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo notched twice to take his yearly tally to 51, before Toni Kroos and Achraf Hakimi got in on the act.

Ronaldo celebrated his record-equalling Ballon d'Or win in brilliant style with a brace, and it continues an interesting trend for the Portuguese phenomenon.

At Madrid, every time Ronaldo has won the Ballon d'Or, he has scored in the next game that came after he was presented with the award.

That's a pretty impressive record isn't it? And it shows that Ronaldo doesn't get complacent at all anytime he wins the prestigious award; he's hungrier than ever to get amongst the goals and he did that brilliantly today.

His first goal finished off a fine piece of play from Marco Asensio, jinking in and out of a couple of Sevilla players in midfield before picking out the run of Ronaldo, the pass from the stupidly talented Spaniard was so perfectly-weighted, as was the take from Ronaldo, that Asensio was pretty much celebrating before the ball had even gone into the net.

Here's how Twitter reacted to the sublime combination paying dividends:
