Marcus Rashford's two goals at the weekend were met by delight by Manchester United fans but questions from elsewhere about why he wasn't getting as much football as they hoped but a stat proves that those questions were pretty unfounded.

Sometimes it feels like Marcus Rashford only works in big goals. The brace on his Manchester United debut followed by another two on Premier League debut, the Manchester derby winner, an England debut goal and Sunday's double against Liverpool instantly come to mind.

Does Rashford make it into our team for the 2020 Euros, picked in 2016:

In fact listing those goals alone account for around 20% of his goals in a Manchester United shirt, Rashford then is a man for the big game.

But it has recently felt like he's barely been Jose Mourinho's man for any game as Saturday's match was his first start in 2018. The lack of Rashford had led to some worries about his place in England's World Cup squad this summer.

In fact some had suggested that the 20 year old would need to leave Old Trafford to get the football his talents deserve. However a stat provided by Manchester United digital journalist Mark Froggatt shows the boy wonder has played more games under Mourinho than anyone else:

Of course not all Rashford's performances have been starts but there won't be many 20 year olds in the Premier League who have made as many appearances in the last year and a half as Rashford has.

His performances at the end of 2017 meant his demotion to the bench was much warranted and now he has comeback, due to injuries, and shown what he can do against Liverpool with his trademark brace.

It was an excellent time for Rashford to remind everyone what he can do. With questions starting to be raised about his place in Gareth Southgate's squad to Russia the goals came the same weekend Harry Kane picked up an injury.

Imagine how far he'd go in a team who actually played him...
