Marcus Rashford is in his most impressive spell as a Manchester United player right now but a video from his time as a youth player suggests he was always going to hit this form.

It's amazing to think about everything that's happened since Marcus Rashford made his debut, it's not that long ago and yet it seems like an absolute ago.

Since the young striker's two goal salvo against FC Midtjylland to turn around an embarrassing situation for Louis van Gaal the Red Devils have been through two managers, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being the third.

Away from Old Trafford, Leicester City won the league not long after Rashford's iconic debut in the Europa League, and away from football Brexit and Donald Trump happened.

That's quite a lot of activity in just a short amount of time, not even three years, and in that time the 21 year old has now brought up 100 Premier League appearances.

He started with a match winning brace against Arsenal in his first appearance in England's top tier and his 100th game also came with a winner, this time against Leicester on Sunday afternoon.

Rashford was always set for greatness though, or at least a video of him as a youngster makes it seem that way:

Rashford has scored more goals in England's top tier at this point in his career than five time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo had after 100 games.

The Wythenshawe born striker is like a new man under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He's now bagged himself six goals in 10 games since Solskjaer took over and had only scored four goals in 20 games previously this season.

He is now scoring the chances he was missing although easy misses against Leicester and Burnley this week suggests he still has some of that in him.

Asked recently if his striker can be the same level as Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, Solskjaer said, "Yes. Definitely he can be absolutely top-class. He is only 21 but the maturity he is showing at times is more than 21 and his work rate."

The 21 year old Rashford obviously has a long way to go just yet until he's at the peak of his powers but clearly he had good grounding in youth football.
