Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first person on the planet to get 150 million followers on Instagram, beating both Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande to the landmark as the world's most followed account.
Oh lord how annoying was Instagram on New Year's Eve. All those bloody posts about how great someone's 2018 was, 'Stories' of one picture a month that seemed to last forever, seriously people how many months were in your year?!
Most of the time though Instagram is pretty great, where else can you see how great a footballers life is up close and personal, without going full paparazzi and hiding in the bushes that is.
It's always fun to see who your friends follow too, especially when something a little suspect pops up, but there's one thing that's almost guaranteed, they follow Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Juventus forward might not be everyone's cup of tea when it comes to playing football, they might prefer Lionel Messi, or because of his perceived arrogance his personality, or the one you've imagined, might not be your favourite thing but apparently we all like to see his pictures.
Back in October Ronaldo became the most followed person on Insta, overtaking Selena Gomez, and now the five time Ballon d'Or winner is the first person to 150 million followers!
Recording artist Gomez is second with 144 million followers and Ariana Grande, another 'outsider' loved by a lot of Mancunians, is third with 141 million people taking a regular look of her account.

It's probably no surprise he's overtaken Gomez considering she hasn't actually posted on the 'medium' since September 24th.
When it comes to footballers it's no surprise that Neymar and Lionel Messi are his closest rivals, although admittedly nowhere near. The Brazilian has 109 million, wonder how many of those are his sister's different accounts, whilst the Barca forward has 105 million followers.
The social media site is thought to have around 1 billion users which means that around a 15% of the platforms users are following the five times Champions League winner.
