Mauro Icardi hopes to kill off Spurs Champions League chances at Wembley tonight but the Argentina forward has proved that off the pitch he can be a nice guy by buying his teammates watches to thank them for his goals.

Some players have a bit of a reputation that they can never shake, no matter what happens later in their careers, Mauro Icardi is one of those players.

The Inter forward is often remembered for his marriage to Wanda Nara because she'd been married to Icardi's then teammate at Sampdoria Maxi Lopez when they started their relationship.

On the pitch the 25 year old has been growing his reputation as one of the world's premier strikers and has become Inter's captain, firing the Italian's back into the Champions League for this season.

This season the Argentina forward has already notched up 10 goals as Inter have got to the verge of the knockout stages of the competition but he knows that he wouldn't be able to score without his teammates.

Having topped the league's scoring charts last season with 29 goals in Serie A, level with Lazio's Ciro Immobile, he brought all of his teammates, including players who have now left the club, a watch to thank them.

Posting on Instagram Icardi said, "I will certainly never forget it 'Top scorecard 2017/2018' ️ But I did not want to remember it alone, because without you it would not have been possible."

Inter's draw with Barcelona on Matchday Four of the Champions League, coupled with Spurs late winner against PSV, left the Italian club three points ahead of their Premier League counterparts.

Should the Italians win on Wednesday then they would go through with a game to go, a win for Spurs would likely leave them needing to Barcelona in Spain, with Inter hosting PSV in Matchday Six.

His teammates know if they do help him get the goals to get them through they may end up with a watch.
