Europe's Top Six Assist-Makers This Season Revealed

Six players top the assist charts in Europe's top five leagues this season.

After starring and registering two assists in the 3-0 win over Stoke City last night, Paul Pogba has joined five other players on nine assists in their respective leagues this season.

The Frenchman, who has gone 35 games unbeaten in the Premier League for United, set up Antonio Valencia's belter of an opener before finding Anthony Martial in acres for his second assist in the first half at Old Trafford.

The pair of set-ups means Pogba now has nine assists in 13 games this season, having missed 10 games through injury and suspension.

Manchester City pair Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne are both level with Pogba when it comes to the Premier League assist charts, with both regularly delivering for their teammates.

SPORTbible meets Kevin De Bruyne:

De Bruyne has reached the tally in 23 games, while Sane has done it in 21 Premier League outings.

Elsewhere in Europe, Augsburg left-back Philipp Max and Celta Vigo winger Pione Sisto are among the top assisters in the elite leagues across the continent,.

The most expensive player in football history, Neymar, has also had joy in setting up his teammates on nine occasions this term, in addition to his 11 goals in Ligue One this term.

The Brazilian has featured 14 times in the French top flight this season, and his record is only second to Pogba in Europe.

De Bruyne was the second-best creator during the 2016/17 season, finishing the campaign with 18 assists - one less than RB Leipzig's Emil Forsberg. Will he come out on top this time around or will Pogba or Neymar pip him to it?
