An utterly outrageous stat.

Give Kevin De Bruyne the Player of the Year award now. The Belgian was again on form as Manchester City beat Leicester City 2-0 at the King Power Stadium, scoring an absolute worldie with his supposedly weaker left-foot.

In a crazy minute early in the second half, Leicester hit the post through Harry Maguire but were undone by a slick City counter in a matter of moments.

De Bruyne was again the orchestrator, touching the ball superbly in the middle of the park and spraying the ball in behind for Leroy Sane to latch on to.

And the City No.17 finished the move in glorious fashion, collecting the ball from Sane, shifting the ball onto his left peg and bulging Kasper Schmeichel's top corner with an outstanding strike.

The goal means he has now been involved in 50 Premier League goals in 76 appearances - 16 goals and 34 assists. KDB is the quickest "out-and-out midfielder" to reach the half century.

De Bruyne has well and truly gone up another gear this season, to the point where we are running out of superlatives for him. The folks on Twitter were once again purring over another exceptional performance for the man who never got a fair crack at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho:

De Bruyne is quickly growing to become the complete footballer, and he's an absolute joy to watch.
