David Silva Takes His Son Home After 5 Months In Hospital

What an incredible day for the Manchester City midfielder.

David Silva has been ridiculously good for Manchester City all in the backdrop of his son being in hospital since December. On Tuesday the Spaniard finally got to take his son home.

It's no secret how good David Silva has been this season, and pretty much every season, everyone is aware of just how impressive the Manchester City man is and he was so important to how well Pep Guardiola's side did this season.

Earlier in the season the former Valencia player's baby boy Mateo was born prematurely in December and Silva missed games because Mateo was fighting in hospital with the new dad flying back and forth to Spain.

Last month when City won the Premier League the 32 year old celebrated by posting a picture with his son in hospital:

Silva missed City's title celebrations in Manchester on Monday night with the rest of the players parading the Premier League and Carabao Cup trophies around the city centre.

However he had his own celebration on Tuesday night with the Spaniard taking to Twitter to announce that he was taking his son home, posting: "We're finally going home! We will be eternally grateful for the amazing team of the pediatric maternity and ICU units of the Hospital Casa de Salud for the professionalism and human treatment that have shown us these 5 long months. Just thank you!"

Absolutely wonderful!

Despite not being at the parade Silva sent a message to his manager, teammates, all the staff at the club and the fans saying, "Hi everyone, I want to apologise for not being able to celebrate the title with you today.

"I want to say thank you to the fans, my teammates, the staff, the club and especially to the manager for understanding my situation. You are a top human being and I will be indebted to you forever so thank you very much."

No surprise that Silva is as classy off the pitch as he is on it.

We're very happy for him, Mateo and all the family that they're finally all home!
