He knows him well...

Alvaro Morata is in London to undergo his medical at Chelsea, with the Spaniard set to become the Premier League winners' fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The 24-year old was a target for Manchester United and Morata himself reportedly dyed his hair in preparation for the move, but Jose Mourinho instead turned his attentions to Romelu Lukaku, who signed in a £75 million move.

With Chelsea losing out on Lukaku, Antonio Conte turned his attentions to Morata, a player who he signed for Juventus in 2014 before taking on the Italian national team job.

The £58 million striker, who scored 23 goals in all competitions for Real Madrid, has spoke of how he spoke to compatriot, and current Chelsea defender, Cesar Azpilicueta, who helped convince him move to Stamford Bridge.

But fellow summer signing Antonio Rudiger, who joined for a £34 million, also knows him well and will be hoping his new teammate takes it easy on him training.

That's because four years ago, Morata and Rudiger were locked in a striker-defender duel in the Under 21 European Championships and it was the former who came out on top.

Leading the line for Spain and against Rudiger's Germany, Morata scored an 86th winner in the 2013 group stages meeting when he rinsed the centre-back by luring him down the left flank and using his pace and power to breeze past him, before slotting home at the near post.

Rudiger will want to forget that moment ever existed, and though he will be somewhat grateful it cannot happen again in a game, he will inevitably come up against the Chelsea new boy in training and will be looking to make amends.

Upon arriving at Heathrow Airport ahead of his medical, here's what Morata had to say to Sky Sports News about his move to Stamford Bridge:

"It's the best club. He [Conte] is one of the best coaches of the world and I'm so happy to work with Antonio.

"I don't know [how close I came to moving to Manchester United], the most important thing is I'm here and to play for Chelsea and I'm here to take the medical and I think everything is OK.

"It's one of the best leagues of the world and I'm so happy to be here. I speak with Azpilicueta and he told me everything is OK."

Will Morata be a success at Stamford Bridge?
