There's nothing Liverpool fans would want more in their team right now than a peak Steven Gerrard. If Jordan Henderson continues to play the way he did against Crystal Palace they may get their wish.
Steven Gerrard is arguably the best Premier League player never to have got his hands on the league title, you'd be hard pushed to find a better one.
His ability and leadership, and the fact that he was a born and bred Liverpudlian, made him an absolute and utter legend at Anfield, especially after his performance in the Champions League final of 2005.

By the end of his time in England though the central midfielder's impact on the team had started to weaken and he eventually left for the MLS.
Since then Jurgen Klopp has done a good job of building the team back up but he's still been missing an operator on the level of Gerrard.
However based on Jordan Henderson's performance against Crystal Palace on Wednesday he might have found one:

Henderson became captain two years ago after Gerrard left for America and he's been one of the Reds most consistent performers since joining from Sunderland.
Last season the Englishman suffered from injuries that kept him out of the side for quite a long time, a loss felt by Klopp's side and the national team.
If Klopp and his team are to challenge next season they'll need Henderson at his best and fans were impressed with his performance:
Henderson would do well to be even half the player his predecessor was but he won't care if he manages to win the one that got away from Gerrard!
