Cristiano Ronaldo's Excellent Run Is Almost As Good As His Goals

Cristiano Ronaldo's Excellent Run Is Almost As Good As His Goals

The Juventus forward got an unofficial assist with his run that opened up a lot of space for Rodrigo Bentancur to run into.

Cristiano Ronaldo is usually known for his goalscoring rather than sacrificing himself so his teammates can score. On Saturday evening the five time Ballon d'Or winner did just that though with a magnificent run.

For a time at Real Madrid the story wasn't about whether or not Cristiano Ronaldo would score, or if his teammate Gareth Bale would score, but what the reaction of each man to his colleague getting on the scoresheet was.

It wasn't long after Bale had joined Real and the fight for supremacy at the Bernabeu was on. It seemed if the Welshman scored, when there was even the slightest chance that he could have passed to Ronaldo, then everyone booed and the Portugal forward was fuming.

A weird time when you're getting annoyed, or at least it looks like it, when your team scores.

Those days are long gone, if nothing else because Ronaldo no longer plays for Los Blancos after moving to Juventus in the summer.

The five time Ballon d'Or winner has scored 10 goals in Serie A in 14 games so far this season but on Saturday against Fiorentina was just as prominent for his off the ball running as his penalty:

Fans certainly enjoyed the former Manchester United forward's role in the goal:

Juve may have won Serie A for the past seven years without Ronaldo but the signing of the 33 year old has only made them better.

The win in Florence gave them 13 wins from 14, with one draw, and put them 11 points ahead of second place Napoli.

Ronaldo might be a goal scoring machine but he can make the runs for others too.
