Russian Defender Says Sergio Ramos Has Shown How To Defend Against Mo Salah

The Liverpool forward will play against the hosts at the World Cup as long as he recovers from his Champions League final injury.

Mo Salah will probably be hoping to put the whole Champions League final ordeal behind him but that's not going to be so easy with one Russian defender suggesting that he now knows how to stop the Egyptian ace.

Stopping Mo Salah in the Champions League final was always going to be Real Madrid's number one priority at the back when they faced Liverpool.

Whilst Salah hadn't yet had the chance to light up the match the Reds had dominated the opening 30 minutes and the former Roma man was constantly the big danger for the defending champions.

His injury just past the half hour mark, when Sergio Ramos pulled him down when their arms became interlocked, took him out of the match and Jurgen Klopp's side never looked the same again.

Now Salah's concentration is on the World Cup and being fit in time for it. Egypt come up against Saudi Arabia, Uruguay and hosts Russia in the Group Stages and will need their main man fit.

Should he make it though Russian centre back Ilya Kutepov thinks that Ramos has shown him the way to defend against the former Roma man, saying:

"How can I stop it? For example, as Sergio Ramos . He showed one of the ways.

"I will not say that I was very upset when Salah suffered damage in the final, but I wish him a speedy recovery. I would be happy if he played at the World Championships. When you confront such masters, you grow up."

It could well be that Uruguay will top the group meaning that Russia and Egypt will be left to fight it out for second place.

If that were to be the case then the extra twist is that the runners up of Group A would play the winners of Group B, which would likely be Sergio Ramos' Spain.

Kutepov is also clearly looking forward to coming up against Uruguay forward Luis Suarez adding, "Am I afraid of the bites of Luis Suarez? Not afraid. If necessary, I myself can bite him"

It's all good knowing what Salah and Suarez are about to do, actually stopping them may prove trickier.
