Liverpool don't know if they're coming or going with their form up and down, for every bit of excitement there's a knocking back to earth. Tonight Jurgen Klopp was clearly frustrated with that after the game.

It's only a few weeks ago, before the recent international break, that Liverpool decimated Arsenal 4-0 and got a lot of people very excited about the upcoming season.

Then Liverpool came up against Manchester City at the weekend and for the opening 25 minutes they were the better side before Sergio Aguero made it 1-0 and then Sadio Mane got sent off.

After that the floodgates rather opened, no surprise considering City's attacking ability, and Klopp saw his side lose 5-0 against Pep Guardiola's side.

Tonight they had the chance to make amends with their opening game of the Champions League, their first appearance in the competition for three years, but their defence once again let them down.

The Reds could only draw 2-2 with perennial Europa League winners Sevilla, who beat Klopp's side in the final of that competition two seasons ago, and the German manager clearly wasn't happy at the end of the game:

Klopp can clearly be heard asking "What have I done? Why are you shouting?" after the coaching staff from the Spanish side clearly weren't happy with the Reds manager.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager has become famous for his antics and reactions in the technical area and his enthusiasm splits opinion, especially if you happen to be the opposition.

The match tonight was full of controversial moments with Liverpool winning and missing a penalty and Joe Gomez being sent off for the home side.

Life tonight didn't get off to the best start for the Premier League club with Dejan Lovren's mistake opening to Sevilla taking the lead.

Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah scored to but the Reds ahead before half-time but a defensive lapse in concentration led to the equaliser with 20 minutes still to play.

Liverpool will need to sure up their defence if they are to compete this season.
