Interestingly, Soler told the media that Liverpool were actually willing to sell Coutinho, but only if Barcelona offered €200 million.
He said, "On Friday, after weeks of offers and talks, Liverpool put a price on the player that we wanted [Coutinho]."
"A price of €200m and we decided we wouldn't do it. That's an example of the way football is now. This club and this board will not get involved in that, though.

"What's happened in the transfer market this summer has taken us to a totally different model of football which we're not used to."
However, fans on social media aren't convinced by that price tag, with several arguing the player is worth nowhere near that much:

Are Barcelona desperately trying to save face after they failed to land a long-term target this summer?
Or could Liverpool's price be an accurate representation of how much they value Coutinho?
