League Two side Port Vale are holding a 'Left-Footer Talent Identification Day' on the 17th April during the Easter half term break to try and find the next Lionel Messi.

In a post on their Twitter this week, John Askey's side revealed they are on the look out for those who prominently use their left boot.

"Do you, or someone you know, have a sweet left-foot and think you have the potential to play Academy football?" it reads.

"If so, Port Vale Academy may just have the opportunity for you!"

Vale, who are current 20th in the League Two ladder, are looking for players for their academy between the ages of seven and 14:

"Our 'Left-Footer Talent Identification Day' is free to register, which is aimed at naturally left-footed players between the ages of 7-14 who believe they have the ability or potential to play in Academy football," they write.

"If you would like to attend this session, please email [email protected]with the following details below. On receipt of receiving your email, you will be informed whether your son has been accepted or not and will be given the address of the venue.
