If I asked you to name some of the best midfielders ever, the names Xavi and Iniesta would likely pop into your head. Add Lionel Messi into the mix and you have a pretty good trio.

From the start of Messi's career in 2004, up until Xavi left Barcelona in 2015, the three of them controlled games, tore defenses apart and won a lot of trophies.

They played together for 11 years at the club, winning seven La Liga titles, three Copa del Reys and an astonishing four Champions Leagues.

Guardiola revolutionised football with his 'tiki-taka' style of play at Barcelona, with Messi, Xavi and Iniesta at the heart of it all.

All three players were naturals with the ball. They all had exceptional vision, being able to cut defenses apart in a split second. They could also dribble extremely well and go past players like they weren't even there.

You know they are tough to play against when Frank Lampard says:

"I think going to the Camp Nou and attempting to get near them for 90 minutes was very tough. They were absolute naturals on the ball."

A video has emerged showing just how good the trio were together. Opposition players couldn't get near to them:

During their time at Barcelona, Messi, Xavi and Iniesta were involved in a combined 733 goals and 559 assists. Not to mention this tally is still rising thanks to the Argentinian striker.

Defenders would be moved from side to side throughout the game, only to be cut apart by one or two intricate passes.

Its hard enough to perform at that standard, never mind in a Champions League final.

In the 2011 final between Barcelona and Manchester United, the trio recorded some insane stats, earning themselves another Champions league.

Xavi recorded 148 passes (the highest that season) and had a 95% pass success rate.

Iniesta recorded a total of 60 passes between him and Xavi, with the next best being 16 for Ferdinand and Vidic.

And Messi recorded 10 out 15 successful dribbles, along with a goal.
