If you tuned in late to Celta Vigo's dramatic win over ViIlarreal on Saturday night, then these pictures of Iago Aspas may have caught you by surprise.

It was one of the most dramatic games of the season to date.

Celta Vigo came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in a tense relegation clash, as the hero of the hour Aspas scored twice to help his side record a priceless victory.

It was a pivotal three points for Fran Escriba's side, who are now just one point away from securing La Liga safety. and Aspas' emotional reaction when he was brought off in the final minutes summed up the night.

The 31-year-old hadn't started a game since December because of a serious injury, but he still managed to give the performance of a lifetime when his team needed it most.

Aspas started the comeback in the 50th minute, scoring a trademark free-kick.

Then after an equaliser from striker Maxi Gomez in the 71st minute, the little Spaniard converted from the penalty spot with just five minutes remaining to seal Celta Vigo's biggest win of the season to date.

Vigo have nine games to save themselves from relegation and with last night's result fresh in the memory, there is hope that Aspas and his teammates will do it.

The former Liverpool man was still full of raw emotion during his post-match interview:

"I've really suffered, not being able to help the team during such a difficult season." he said regarding his injury lay off.

"We don't deserve fans such as these: the way they greeted us, the atmosphere while we were losing 2-0...we came back thanks to them, we gave our all."

The greatest game on this planet.
