Sergio Ramos Has Asked To Leave Real Madrid On A Free Transfer

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has confirmed that centre-back Sergio Ramos has asked to leave the club on a free transfer.

In an interview with radio station Onda Cero, the 72-year-old said that Ramos has had a "very good offer" from China:

"They (Ramos and his agent) came to see me in my office and told me they had a very good offer from China but the league rules over there wouldn't permit them to pay the transfer fee," Perez told radio station Onda Cero.

"What was I going to tell him? We said this couldn't happen but we'd speak to the club to satisfy him but that Real Madrid could not afford to let its captain leave for free as that would set a terrible precedent for other players."

Manchester United, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be keeping tabs on his situation, but Liverpool have ruled out a move for Ramos.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Reds are not interested in signing the Real Madrid captain and they made a bold claim that they wouldn't even sign him if he was available on a free:

"There is 0.0 per cent chance of Sergio Ramos playing for Liverpool," the source told the newspaper.

"It has nothing to do with what happened in Kiev last season.

"Even if we had won the Champions League final and Ramos had shook the hand of every Liverpool player afterwards, we would still have no interest in him.

"Ramos just doesn't fit the kind of profile that Jürgen Klopp is looking for.

"We wouldn't even sign him if he was available on a free."
