Sadio Mane's Gesture To Ball Boy During Super Cup Proves He's The Nicest Guy In Football

Sadio Mane's Gesture To Ball Boy During Super Cup Proves He's The Nicest Guy In Football

Senegalese striker was the star man on the pitch, and he excelled with his gesture to a ball boy as well.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane picked up the Man of the Match award after an outstanding performance against Chelsea on Wednesday night.

But it was a heartwarming gesture off the pitch that deserves even more recognition.

The 27-year-old scored twice in the Super Cup final as Jurgen Klopp's side won on penalties after the match finished 2-2 after extra time.

Mane didn't get to take a spot-kick after he was taken off in the latter stages, but he did make a ball boy's day - if not year.

The Senegalese international hugged the youngster before he walked off with Mane's Liverpool kit.

This is what football is all about!

Of course, this isn't the first time Mane has proven to be one of the nicest guys in football.

After experiencing heartbreak in the Africa Cup of Nations final against Algeria, the 27-year-old returned to the village he grew up in to check on how the construction of school he's financing is coming along.

In April last year, the Champions League winner donated over £200,000 so that the next generation of kids in Bambali have a new secondary school to give them opportunity to prosper in life.

Mane is an absolute hero back home but his unbelievable gestures are not for show.

When The Telegraph spoke to him about his act of charity in building a school, he requested it be left out of the interview - adding "I do not do this for publicity."

He doesn't do it for attention, but because he genuinely cares about where he was raised and is well aware of the poverty-stricken conditions that many are living in.

A true modern day superhero.
