Water is wet, the sun is hot and Cristiano Ronaldo produces on the world's biggest stage.

It took the Portugal captain just three minutes to make an impact in the game. Spain full-back Nacho brought the five time Balon d'Or winner down in the penalty box and despite a few raised eyebrows, referee Gianluca Rocchi gave the spot kick.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, who has reportedly agreed a five year contract with the Premier League club today, tried his best to distract the Real Madrid forward, but c'mon Dave, this bloke scores goals for fun.

He picked out the bottom right corner and the European champions were 1-0 up. Just like that.

But his entertaining celebration moments later got people talking on social media.

Ronaldo produced the classic 'SIIII' celebration near the corner flag, but proceeded to stroke/scratch his chin.

Plenty of people reckon that he was doing it to indicate that he really is the G.O.A.T.
