Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for Pep Guardiola's men in the fifth minute. Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus scored a first-half brace and Oleksandr Zinchenko added in City's fourth before half-time.
In other EFL Cup news, Tottenham Hotspur beat Chelsea 1-0 in their first-leg semi-final match at Wembley Stadium, with Harry Kane scoring a first-half penalty after VAR was called into action.
It's safe to say that Blues boss Maurizio Sarri was not happy with how VAR did not rule the Spurs striker offside.
