Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero was forced to retake his penalty in their 5-0 win over West Ham because of encroachment.

Declan Rice ran into the box before the penalty was taken, forcing a re-kick after referee Mike Dean consulted VAR.

Aguero, who missed his first spot-kick with a terrible effort, made no mistake second time round, slotting in with ease in the 85th minute.

The VAR decision has certainly caused yet more controversy on social media.

This wasn't the first controversial incident involving VAR.

It controversially overturned Manchester City's goal against West Ham when Raheem Sterling was adjudged offside by video review.

Mike Dean ruled out City's third goal, with the England winger's shoulder being inches offside.
