Joey Barton Responds To Cristiano Ronaldo Calling Himself 'The Best Player In History'

After bagging yet another Ballon d'Or, Cristiano Ronaldo hailed himself as the 'best player in history'.

Needless to say, it's got everybody talking including the never-shy Joey Barton who's Tweeted his response.

The Real Madrid star was named the 2017 Ballon d'Or winner following his heroics last season. He not only guided his side to the La Liga title but also the Champions League, successfully defending the European trophy in the process.

He's now level with Lionel Messi on five individual awards.

But he believes he's the best player in history.

"I don't see anyone better than me. No player does things that I cannot do myself, but I see things others can't do. There's no more complete player than me. I'm the best player in history - in the good and the bad moments," Ronaldo told French Football.

Barton acknowledges Ronaldo's achievements but he doesn't think the Portuguese international is better than Messi, let alone the best in history.
