Following the successful debuts of Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette, Everton's Wayne Rooney and Liverpool's Mo Salah, all eyes turned to Manchester United's £75 million signing Romelu Lukaku. But it was a debut to forget.
The 24-year-old completed his switch from Everton, snubbing a return to Chelsea in the process. United forked out a whopping £75 million to acquire his services following a prolific campaign in the Premier League.
And the United faithfuls got a first glimpse of the brute striker in a red shirt last night as he made his debut.

"He didn't score goals but he played better than the ones who [did] score goals," he said told ESPN. "Target man, hold the ball well, good movement, not selfish, team player, very strong holding the ball and not losing, fast on the counter attack - so happy."
Next up for Lukaku and Co. is Real Salt Lake in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
