Some People Genuinely Reckon Vince McMahon Is Going To Buy Newcastle

Is there a "chance in a hell" that it could happen?

Newcastle United are officially up for sale, and some people actually seem to think Vince McMahon is going to buy the Premier League outfit.

Current Magpies owner Mike Ashley revealed earlier today that he's ready to sell the club he bought back in 2007, with a deal hopefully to be concluded before Christmas.

Ashley's has been a pretty tumultuous reign but it seems the club's supporters don't want a quiet, understated owner - with a lot of people mentioning WWE owner McMahon.

The billionaire wrestling promoter was linked with buying Newcastle several years ago on social media, but other than donning the odd black and white referee jersey, nobody seems to really know where the link comes from.

After yesterday's news, Vince is again being mentioned:

Being honest, good old Vinny Mac is a bit busy running WWE and barely ever sleeping so there's probably "No chance in hell" of it happening. But we're enjoying the worlds of football and wrestling coming together, and really, really hope that we see Vince revealing himself as the higher power behind a takeover bid for Newcastle.

However, fans of the Attitude Era in 2001 will know that it will probably all result in son Shane McMahon's name being on the contract, as it was in storyline when WWF purchased rival company WCW to put an end to the Monday Night Wars back in the day.
