There's very little as exciting in football as a good comeback, unless you're on the receiving end of it, and Nigeria have just given the world a great dose of excitement after coming back from 2-0 down to beat Argentina.

Argentina aren't one of the big sides not going to the World Cup but they very much have Lionel Messi to thank for that. They're lucky the Barcelona superstar scored a hat-trick against Ecuador in their last qualifier otherwise they might have been staying home this summer.

Instead they'll head to Russia hoping to end their dismal run of being in three big tournament finals without winning but that's not exactly looking likely without Messi carrying them right now.

The 30 year old was missing from their friendly against Nigeria in Russia today and saw his side take a 2-0 lead against the Super Eagles but Leicester City's Kelechi Iheanacho pulled one back before half time and then goals from Alex Iwobi and Brian Idowu gave them an unlikely 4-2 win!

And fans on social media were absolutely loving it:

Unbelievable scenes in Russia. Is it a sign of things to come for the two time World Cup winners?
