The commentators couldn't believe that Suarez was given a yellow card for this incident,

With the biting, diving and racist incidents it's not surprise that Luis Suarez has made a bit of a reputation for himself but there's no doubt in anyone's mind that he isn't the controversial part of his yellow card today.

As good a player as Luis Suarez is, and despite his recent form there's very little doubt about that, he has far too often been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Although that is less so at Barcelona.

For Ajax, Liverpool and Uruguay there has been three moments of biting an opposition player that all got him in significant trouble. The last one at the World Cup saw him banned for the next summer's Copa America.

Not long after that he earned himself a move to Barcelona and his time at Camp Nou has been far less controversial.

In just the 55th second of Barca's match Celta Vigo in the early kick off on Saturday the Uruguayan picked up a bizarre yellow card for very little as Sergio Gomez went down next to him:

Gomez seemingly dislocated his shoulder in the incident but there's absolutely nothing that Suarez did or can be blamed for, it looks like the ref made his decision based on the Celta player being injured and nothing more.

Fans on social media were as bemused as the commentators:

It's a quite unbelievable booking but at least he was able to put it behind him. Celta did take the lead but Lionel Messi soon put Ernesto Valverde's side back level and Suarez made it 2-1 not long after the hour mark.

Celta were level themselves just eight minutes later.

What a ridiculous yellow card!
