The Liverpool captain wasn't happy with Kevin Friend's performance in the Carabao Cup game against Chelsea and let him know about it.

The game between Liverpool and Chelsea in the Carabao Cup third round wasn't a happy one for Jordan Henderson and now the Liverpool captain isn't being allowed to forget it thanks to fans on social media.

For a cup competition that doesn't matter the Carabao Cup, or whichever of its many names it was at the time, has only been won by a side not in the current top six three times since 2003.

With so much competition at the top now and so few trophies to be handed out England's third most popular and important competition has become ever more meaningful for the top sides and harder for others to win it.

So a game between Liverpool and Chelsea was always going to be full of more star power than the same fixture in the same context in years gone by. Eden Hazard was the man to settle the game with a wondrous goal.

Whilst Hazard was getting all the praise, and being lauded for being the best player in England, Liverpool's Jordan Henderson was being trolled for his reaction to the ref.

The Reds captain was seen to shout at Kevin Friend "you're sh*t and belong in the Championship." It led many to consider the insult as irony:

Plenty of Liverpool fans did agree with their captain of course and considering just how 'good' a referee Friend tends to be who would actually wish him on Championship teams.

There was further criticism from Chelsea fans after 'Hendo' was seen calling Hazard a 'cheating bas***d':

To be honest it's extremely harsh calling the England midfielder a 'Championship player' as he's improved a lot in the last couple of years and proved many people wrong.

But Jordan, if you are reading, may I suggest that you stop being so bloody obvious with what you're shouting. You can start when the Reds try to get revenge on the Blues in the Premier League this weekend.
