Alex Scott Questions Whether Lionel Messi Would Get In Manchester City's Team

Sky Sports pundit Alex Scott has been the subject of a lot of Twitter reaction after the former England Women's international questioned whether Lionel Messi would get into the current Manchester City team.

Scott, who has quickly become one of Sky's best pundits, was talking on Goals on Sunday and pondering whether at 32-years-old the five time Ballon d'Or winner could keep up the high tempo required to keep up with the high press.

The suggestion didn't go down well on Twitter:

Guardiola's side kicked off their league season on Saturday with a 5-0 walloping of West Ham, at the London Stadium, with VAR denying them a sixth by mere centimeters.

The hosts had a good first half and put pressure on the reigning Premier League champions but the second half was all one way traffic.

City's ability to put pressure on the opposition defence by pressing, the reason Scott asked the question, was partially behind their impressive second 45 minutes.

In truth Messi is still all action for Barcelona and is so good that even Guardiola would likely let him off some of the hard work.
