A Commentator's Comment About Gareth Bale Proves How Far He's Fallen

The Real Madrid winger looks set to leave the Bernabeu this summer as he has now fallen down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane.

Gareth Bale was once touted as the man to take over from Cristiano Ronaldo but that is no longer the case. One remark from a commentator last night showed how far he's fallen and people couldn't disagree with it.

When Bale left Spurs for Real Madrid he beat Cristiano Ronaldo's world record transfer fee and Manchester United were so desperate to get their hands on the Welshman they actually bid more but he only had eyes for one club.

Bale scored 47 La Liga goals in his first three seasons for Real, not exactly Ronaldo levels but a pretty good outlay for a man playing in essence to help his teammate score as many as possible.

Things though weren't always great between the former Southampton youngster and Madridistas who often booed the member of the infamous BBC strikeforce.

The last couple of seasons haven't been great for Bale though with injuries and form reducing his playing time and impact on the team. This season he has struggled in a Los Blancos team 15 points off Barcelona in first.

Bale did get on the scoresheet on Sunday against Girona but it was as a substitute with starter Lucas Vazquez also on target and once commentator pointed out that the 28 year old is now behind the Spaniard:

And fans couldn't disagree:

Last season injury and the form of Isco made Bale sit out the final of the Champions League against Juventus now it's his own form and that of Vasquez that could see him miss out at the quarter final stage.

Despite still possessing plenty of talent it looks like he will be leaving Real in the summer if previous reports are to be believed.

It's never quite worked out the way it was supposed to for him in Spain despite moments of genius, it's a shame.
