The Chinese Football Association (CFA) have thrown the book at Oscar for his part in the mass brawl.

Oscar has been slapped with a massive EIGHT game ban for kicking off a huge scuffle during the Chinese Super League.

The game between Shanghai SIP and Guangzhou R&F finished 1-1 but the CSL fixture was marred following the pile-up between both sets of players.

The Brazilian midfielder incited the brawl after smashing the ball at two of his opponents in quick succession at the beginning of the first half.

As a result of the ban, Oscar will be out of action in the league until August 13. He's also been hit with a measly $5,000 fine.

The CFA released a statement with their punishment saying the following;

"Oscar's immoral foul, which sparked a massive bust-up on the pitch, has had a huge negative impact on China's professional football leagues," the statement reads.

"The CFA always attaches great importance to the issue of discipline, taking great pains to root out the violent fouls and other unsportsmanlike behaviour."

"Hopefully disciplinary offences would be severely punished by all clubs and efforts shall be made to maintain the order of the games and protect the development of football."
