In the latest story to come from Wayne Rooney's in-depth interview with Mark Saggers from talkSPORT, the 31-year old has revealed the two players who received the hairdryer treatment from Sir Alex Ferguson.

It's common knowledge that Fergie, the most successful manager in Manchester United history after collecting 38 trophies in his 26-year reign at Old Trafford, loved giving out a good bollocking when necessary and as per Rooney, it was he and former teammate Ryan Giggs who received them most frequently - with United and England's record goalscorer going on to say it had a positive effect.

"That happened with me and Giggsy more than anyone," the Everton striker said.

"We were the players he had a go at most. But he knew when he had a go at us two, the characters we were meant we would go out and improve."

"I have seen players with tears running down their face because the manager had a go at them and they can't take it.

"I've also been there where Alex Ferguson has had a go at me - and it gave me that lift. It makes you want it more."

As Rooney noted, shouting and balling did not work with some of Fergie's players and so he had to take a different approach with them.

In a separate interview earlier this year, Rooney revealed that Nani, his former teammate at United, now playing for Serie A side Lazio, did not feel Ferguson's wrath as it simply did not work.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said:

"Sir Alex was really clever like that.

"He knew who he could have a go at, who it was best to leave alone. He always knew it brought the best out of me. It wouldn't work with Nani."

Back to Rooney, in the very same interview with talkSPORT, he also expressed his interest in going into management once he hangs his boots up.

"I'd love to go into management," he said.

"I'm doing my badges now and I think it would be a waste to have the knowledge I've picked up over the years to not have a go at it.

"I've always been interested in watching games, and the tactical side of games, and speaking to the managers I've worked under about how we're going to approach certain games.

"I've always watched football and studied it to try to see different things during the game, and I know a lot of players I've played with don't do that. They're more into watching tricks on YouTube, and stuff like that.

"England manager - you never know. I wouldn't say no!"
