The Premier League is back, and with everyone making their yearly predictions of who will finish wear this year, Rio Ferdinand is weighed in with his predictions.

Taking to Instagram today, the six-time Premier League winner and current BT Sport shared his predictions for the top four, as well as the race for the Premier League Golden Boot.

The former England defender has opted for his beloved Manchester United to lift the title in Jose Mourinho's second season at Old Trafford, citing the signings of Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic, both with vast Premier League experience, as a major factor.

He reckons city rivals Manchester City and their "proper naughty" attack will finish as runners up, with last season's winners Chelsea following in third place because of their thin squad and the fact they also have Champions League commitments to contend with.

For the final top four spot, the 38-year old believes Arsenal will be back in fourth after finishing in fifth place and qualifying for the Europa League following a poor domestic campaign.

He has of course left out two of last season's top four, in Tottenham and Liverpool, who finished second and fourth respectively last term. While he offered no explanation for excluding Liverpool from the conversation, Ferdinand feels the lack of incomings at Tottenham, the rumoured unhappiness in the camp and the Wembley problem, will result in them falling short.

He does however, tip Harry Kane to continue his fine form this season. The Spurs talisman has scooped the Golden Boot award in the past two seasons and Ferdinand feels he and Romelu Lukaku, the man who came closest to catching him last term, will share the award on 25 goals.

What are your top four predictions? Has Ferdinand got it right?
