Pundit Goes On Crazy Rant To 'Prove' Cristiano Ronaldo Is Better Than Lionel Messi

The year is 2106, the world has been destroyed by years of abuse and war and two cockroaches are discussing whether Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi is the better footballer.

We have been around this block more times than Cristiano Ronaldo has been to the gym at this point. I even decided to wade in on the whole thing myself on Twitter last night, and boy did I regret it.

Having listened and read all the criticism about Messi following Argentina's loss to Croatia I decided to make the point that four years ago Messi won the Golden Ball and scored four goals to take Argentina to a World Cup final whilst Ronaldo didn't do anything.

My point wasn't to suggest Messi is or was better, it's just that for me the last four games hasn't made Messi a worse player than his arch nemesis much like a bad tournament for Ronaldo last time didn't make him worse. Canadian pundit Sid Seixeiro clearly isn't buying into that argument.

Speaking on Sportsnet Seixeiro ripped into the five time Ballon d'Or winner and called him a fraud for not being able to do it without the likes of Andres Iniesta, Xavi and David Villa:

I won't lie to you, I personally think a lot of what this guy is saying is absolute and utter tosh.

First of all the moment you say Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher 'suck' is the moment you've utterly discredited yourself, especially as he's referring to the 2008 Manchester United side that won a Premier League and Champions League double and was considered by some a better side than the Treble winners.

Added to that is the fact that normally people are arguing that Argentina are a better side than Portugal so saying Messi can't do it without good players around him seems to contradict that somewhat.

'Zidane can play with anyone' and then listing a France side that won the World Cup in 1998 and Euros two years later and a Real Madrid team who won the Champions League.

Look I'm not really interested in who the better player is between them but you can't go round calling Lionel Messi a 'fraud' without being absolutely wrong.

It just makes me hope he and Argentina turn it all around and qualify. Good luck Lionel, you don't deserve all this nonsense.
