Gary Neville has named the one man he thinks is the most underrated player in the Premier League. Liverpool fan might be surprised to find that it's one of their players the former Manchester United player has named.
There's very little doubting how good some players are. People might harp on about which of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi is better but no one is actually considering that either isn't a good player.
However over the years there has been plenty of players who have been ignored by many fans despite the obvious fact that they were a little bit brilliant.
Michael Carrick and James Milner are the prime examples of underrated players although at some point both men became so talked about for being underrated that they pretty much became overrated.
On a Q&A session last night Gary Neville revealed who the Premier League's current most overrated player is:
The Liverpool midfielder has started 13 Premeir League games this season despite the addition of Naby Keita and Fabinho to Jurgen Klopp's side and Neville clearly feels the former Newcastle United player doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
But is he right? We put the question to our Twitter followers and, whilst Wijandum did get a shout, the Dutchman wasn't alone in the list:
There certainly was a lot of players on the list and that's just a very quick snapshot of the type of players who were named.
Who do you think is the most underrated player in the Premier League?
