David Luiz Names The Premier League Striker He's Fearful Of Next Season

"He has the timing to go into the space, he finishes well, he can score many goals, he can assist. So he is a top-level player."

David Luiz returned to England in some style last season by bagging the Premier League title, and ahead of the upcoming campaign, the Brazilian defender is fearful of one of his league rivals having pulled off one of the best signings of the summer.

Following Manchester United securing the services of supposed Chelsea target, Romelu Lukaku, the defending English champions shortly drafted in Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

As well as Manchester United and Chelsea, Arsenal have also splashed the cash on a new striker. The club signed Alexandre Lacazette for a club record transfer of £52 million.

And having played against him while at Paris Saint-Germain, Luiz is aware of his ability and believes Arsenal have snapped up an impressive deal.

"Lacazette is a top player, top striker. I had many opportunities to play against him in France and he was always difficult. Arsenal did well to take him," Luiz said to Evening Standard.

Luiz then details the Frenchman's key attributes before finishing by saying it motivates him playing against players like him.

"What makes him so good? He has the timing to go into the space, he finishes well, he can score many goals, he can assist. So he is a top-level player."

"Of course it [playing against Lacazette] motivates me," he added.

With pre-season in full swing, Luiz and Lacazette are set to come face-to-face on Saturday as Arsenal and Chelsea lock horns in a friendly in China.

And once the domestic season begins, the two clubs will again compete for the Community Shield.
