The Egyptian winger clearly made an impact on his new manager at some point in his career.

During his spell at Chelsea you'd be hard pushed to imagine that just a couple of years later Mohamed Salah would be worth €50 million. However his impressive time at Roma isn't the first time he's shocked Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp took a huge step into transforming Liverpool back into regular Champions League participants and Premier League contenders last season by managing to finish in the top four for the first time since they were runners-up in 2014.

Of course that won't be enough for the German and he has set about trying to strengthen his squad this summer although he's been a bit frustrated in bringing in primary targets Naby Keita and Virgil van Dijk

One player he has managed to add into his team is former Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah who they signed from Italian side Roma after two seasons with the capital side in which he scored 29 goals and recovered his pre Chelsea form.

Speaking to the Telegraph the Reds manager revealed that Salah made him swear with excitement long before the pair were brought together at Anfield:

"When he was at Basel we (Dortmund) played them and we didn't know him. It was 'what the f**k?'. It was unbelievable. The moment I said 'let's go for him' he was already at Chelsea."

Dortmund and Basel played out a 3-1 friendly win for the Bundesliga side ahead of the 2013/14 season, in what was Henrikh Mkhitaryan's debut for Klopp's former club with the Armenian also impressing.

But clearly Salah caught they eye of Klopp and funnily enough Liverpool. The Anfield side were favourites to sign the Egyptian the following January from that fixture but the Blues swooped in.

At the start of the next season though he was loaned out to Fiorentina before joining Roma a year later and staying till this summer when Klopp was willing to splash out on him.

His new manager will be hoping there's plenty more "what the f*ck" moments in the next few years.
