Jamie Carragher Says One Premier League Player Is A Better Crosser Than Kevin De Bruyne

The former Liverpool defender is sure to raise a few eyebrows with this claim.

Kevin de Bruyne might well be the best midfielder in the world on form right now but former Liverpool defender, turned pundit, Jamie Carragher believes one man is better than the Belgian when it comes to crossing.

Does anyone else really need to get their hopes up about potentially being Premier League player of the season or should we just give it to Kevin de Bruyne right now and forgo the ceremony?

So far this term the Belgian has notched up three Premier League goals and six assists and has been the driving force behind Manchester City's dominant start to the league season.

Pep Guardiola is really getting the best out of the former Chelsea midfielder, who has come along way since Jose Mourinho decided to sell him because he couldn't guarantee him first team football.

De Bruyne might be the best around at the moment but, speaking on Sky Sports, pundit Jamie Carragher revealed that one man in England's top tier is better than him at crossing, saying:

"He's also so difficult to stop in terms of his assists because he can move in and out of different positions with his current role.

"He's playing just to the right of a midfield three where he can slip players in but by moving five or 10 yards to the right he's in a crossing position and there's no better crosser of a ball in the Premier League, perhaps with the exception of Kieran Trippier at Tottenham."

Trippier started really making a splash at Spurs in the second half of last season and Kyle Walker's departure to City has seen him become the club's first choice right-back and England's second choice, behind Walker.

The former Burnley player has four assists to his name in the Premier League this season, very decent for a defender, but it does seem quite the stretch to suggest he's better than KDB at it, doesn't it?

Carragher did further praise the Belgian, adding, "Everything goes through you in central midfield but when you're in such good form every other player in the team wants to give you the ball, too. No matter how many stars they have in that side, they give the ball to De Bruyne.

"His right foot is like a wand but then you see the goals he's scored with his left - so how do you actually stop him? At the moment he's looking unplayable."

Can anyone beat De Bruyne to end of season awards?
