The World Cup is sadly over and it's not coming back, at least not for another four and a half years, damn you FIFA, but at least that gives us a chance to pick our best XIs from the tournament and argue with each other.
1 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm have all come and gone without football and I'm now just hoping there will be a 7 pm kick off to come otherwise I'll have gone all day without watching football.
For the past few weeks that hasn't seemed possible, even during the off days in between rounds there was at least the knowledge that the footy was coming back but no more.
Now though we just have emptiness, well it's only three weeks till the Football League starts and the Community Shield as well of course but for now we'll continue to bask in the World Cup's glory.

But just who were the men of the hour? Thibaut Courtois won the Golden Glove award, Kylian Mbappe was Young Player of the Tournament, Luka Modric won the Golden Ball and Harry Kane was the man with the Golden Boot but not all of them made it into all our teams of the tournament:
Ryan (Me):
Jack:
Josh:
Nas:
I mean there's obviously some things that need to be talked about before we can move on. For one we, myself included, don't all have Harry Kane in our team and I realise that will lead to a lot of questions.

Personally I decided to play three up front with two wide men and one number nine and, despite scoring more than Harry Kane, I felt Romelu Lukaku gave more to his side throughout the tournament and that performance against Brazil was enough to tip him ahead of Kane.
Jack's formation is a little out there to be honest but each to their own I guess, not sure it would exactly it's the best way to go, a little width would no doubt unlock his side.
I'm a big fan of Josh including Milad Mohammadi simply because of the Iran left back's failed attempt to go for a rolling throw in.
Who would make your team of the tournament?
