Is he still bitter about the Champions League final defeat to a Ronaldo-inspired Real?

Massimiliano Allegri has caused a stir online after talking about the best players in world football and leaving Cristiano Ronaldo out of the conversation.

The Juventus boss was speaking at a press conference following his side's opening International Champions Cup contest against Barcelona, and waxed lyrical about Lionel Messi and Neymar, with the latter notching two fine goals in a 2-1 win.

Allegri picked out the Blaugrana duo as the two best players in the world, with Cristiano Ronaldo, the current Ballon d'Or winner and the man who bagged a double to defeat his Juve side 4-1 in the Champions League final last month, not getting a mention.

"I don't know if Neymar is worth $200m, but he certainly did one or two things that made the difference today," Allegri is quoted as saying.

"He and Messi are the two best players in the world. They're the best technically but they're also in really good shape."

The former Milan manager's comments prompted a flurry of reactions on social media, with many fans in disbelief that Allegri had not included Ronaldo, a four-time Ballon d'Or winner who won La Liga and the Champions League last season.

Of course, football is all about opinions but it is rather strange for Allegri to exclude Ronaldo given his form in big games and moments last season. It seems like he's still bitter about the Champions League final defeat in Cardiff.
