Why Luis Suarez Celebrated Goal In The Face In Leganes' Goalkeeper Face

He rubbed it in big-time...

Luis Suarez was back amongst the goals after a barren spell, and he made a point of going over to the opposition goalkeeper after finding the net.

The Uruguayan ended a drought of 479 minutes without a goal with a brace against Leganes yesterday, finding the net in the 28th and 60th minute respectively, before Paulinho added a third late on.

And his goal celebration for his second strike saw him celebrate right in front of Ivan "Pichu" Cuellar - throwing his fist in the air and having a few things to say to the Leganes No.1. It was very unsportsmanlike, even for Suarez.

However, there was a reason for the former Liverpool man goading Cuellar and he wasn't just being a bad shithouse as per.

Eight minutes earlier, there was an incident between the two which offers an explanation of sorts as to why Suarez celebrated in such a manner.

As we all know, Suarez is one of the very worst in the business for diving and play-acting, but Cuellar's antics rival him here. The 30-year old merely removed the 'keeper's hand from his throat and he proceeded to con the referee into thinking he had been struck in the face.

The man in the middle fell for it as well, showing Suarez a yellow card - though Barca have confirmed they will be appealing. The Barcelona No.9 had the last laugh though and exacted his revenge when his deflected strike found the net.

Following Real Madrid's 1-0 draw with city rivals Atletico, Barca are now 10 points clear of the reigning champions and it's all looking very rosy at the moment for Ernesto Valverde.
