Not for the first time in his career, Cristiano Ronaldo got everybody talking. No, not for his record breaking goal - but more so his positioning during the Portuguese national anthem.

Portugal resumed their 2018 World Cup campaign, following the dramatic 3-3 draw against Spain, by beating Morocco thanks to the man himself.

He's now scored more international goals than any other European player in history after netting in the opening minutes of the Group B fixture.

But, forget his goal for a second. Just why was Ronaldo stood sideways during the national anthem?

Users on social media were definitely perplexed by what he was doing prior to kick-off.

Fear not, Ronaldo fans; the reason why the 33-year-old stood at such angle has been revealed.

It's because of the flag.

He was patriotically staring at his side's flag before kick-off.
