Why Premier League Games Could Genuinely Be Postponed This Weekend

There are some big games this weekend, too.

Premier League games are in genuine danger of being postponed this weekend.

A big snow storm has been predicted by forecasters in the UK and that could potentially affect games in the top-flight this weekend.

Two yellow severe warnings of snow and wind have been issued by the Met Office, who believe that temperatures could be as low as minus double figures by the time the weekend rolls around.

The warning read:

"Cold northerly winds will bring frequent snow showers through Thursday and into Friday. Be aware of the potential for disruption to transport networks."

And the Chief Forecaster also had their say and it seems like a lot of snow could well be coming our way.

"A cold airstream will be in place by Thursday afternoon, bringing frequent snow showers to areas exposed to the northerly wind. A further 2-5 cm of snow is possible, with an additional 10-20 cm above about 200 m. Lightning may be an additional hazard, with possible disruption to power supplies."

Scotland, North Wales and the north of England are the main areas that are under threat of snow, according to reports.

As we know, Premier League pitches and facilities are up to an incredible standard these days but there seems to be a real concern from the Met Office in regards to the amount of snow and wind that could be on the way - especially in terms of how transport could be affected.

As per Dream Team FC, some bookmakers have made it 4/1 for a Premier League game to be called off this weekend as a result of the anticipated snowstorm.

Premier League games this weekend include: Leicester vs Chelsea, Everton vs Manchester City and Liverpool vs Manchester United.

Stay away, snow.
