Zlatan Ibrahimovic has raised an interesting point about Cristiano Ronaldo's transfer to Juventus.

New league, same Ronaldo. He's bagged an impressive 18 Serie A goals since his summer switch from Real Madrid.

The Portuguese superstar called his new venture a challenge.

"For me, life is a challenge, I like it and I like to make people happy," he said.

The 34-year-old laid down the gauntlet to his fierce rival Lionel Messi: "I would like him to come to Italy one day. Like me, accept the challenge."

'Challenge' being the buzz word. But Ibrahimovic has questioned the legitimacy of his new challenge.

"I didn't say his transfer wasn't great," the Swedish striker said about Ronaldo's summer move.

"I said that it wasn't a challenge to join Juventus. It's not a challenge to go to one of the best teams in the world.

"Maybe it depends on what you mean by challenge. For me, a challenge is joining a team and taking them far. That's a challenge.

"In any case, it's a great signing for Italian football because thanks to him, my second home of Serie A has grown."

He also weighed in on this season's Champions League campaign, calling this year's competition 'very open'.

"This year is very open," he added. "There isn't a team who are better than all the others or a favourite. Maybe one of my old teams will win: PSG, Manchester United, Juve or Barcelona.

"Unfortunately Inter have been eliminated, while Milan aren't there. There are four teams and I hope one of them win it."

Ibrahimovic's former sides meet in a few weeks as Paris Saint-Germain entertain Manchester United.
