Paul Pogba went absolutely raging mad after seeing an Iceland player produce a cynical tackle on Kylian Mbappe last night.

The Golden Boy winner, on as a substitute with Les Bleus 2-0 down to the minnows, scored a late penalty to save the world champions from a shock defeat but received some very rough treatment in stoppage time.

Runar Mar Sigurjonsson had two goes at Mbappe as he looked to dart down the left flank and deservedly earned a yellow card for his ill-timed challenge. But members of the France bench were incensed by the antics and tempers flared in Guingamp.

And Pogba, who had been withdrawn in the 67th minute, was central to the confrontation - storming the pitch and having a go at Iceland players and then the referee.

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane did his best to calm his teammate down, though Pogba could still find himself punished for his actions - even if they were justified after such a nasty tackle.

Pogba struggled in a midfield two alongside Roma's Steven Nzonzi but Mbappe, who replaced Antoine Griezmann, pretty much single-handedly inspired the fight-back.

He forced an own goal in the 86th minute and then converted a last minute penalty for his 10th goal for his country - and one that saved them from an embarrassing loss.

Didier Deschamps' side now turn their attentions to Germany in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday as they look to move to seven points from three games.
