A lot has been made of Ousmane Dembele's timekeeping issues of late but the Frenchman is believed to have apologised to Barcelona players about it.

After the former Borussia Dortmund winger scored a brilliant goal in the 4-0 thrashing of Catalan rivals Espanyol at the weekend, he angered his club once again by turning up to a light training session two hours late and ended up training on his own.

However, according to SPORT, Dembele apologised to his teammates in the changing rooms prior to a training session on Monday.

The speech from Dembele, said to be "short, but respectful" also saw him promise for it not to happen again - and his apology was duly accepted by the group.

It's said that Dembele feels he has learned his lesson after being given a 200,000 euros fine.

The 21-year old then started against Spurs at the Nou Camp and scored a sublime solo goal seven minutes in, displaying some incredible pace and then sending Harry Winks for a hot-dog before slotting home past Hugo Lloris.

Manager Ernesto Valverde was asked about the situation with Dembele post-match and praised the No.11 for his display.

"He has made a great goal, possible for players with his talent," he said.

"We are happy with him and we said that throughout the season things happen that we try to solve internally.

"We hope that he and the rest will continue to give us much joys."

He was hen asked if the case was closed?

"I do not know [if the case is closed], tomorrow we have training," the former Athletic Bilbao boss hilariously added.

Dembele has eight goals and four assists in all competitions this season.
