Olivier Giroud is eager to show-up Thierry Henry when France meet Belgium in the World Cup semi-final.

After beating tournament favourites Brazil, Belgium find themselves just one game away from a World Cup final.

Roberto Martinez has spearheaded Belgium's campaign with the coaching aide of Henry who's his second in command.

The French legend was snapped up by Martinez in 2016, and has been influential in shaping the likes of Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku who have performed heroically in Russia.

Martinez and Henry now await the challenge of France.

Henry's loyalties will be split for the semi-final clash with the winners booking a spot in the World Cup final.

But despite working for Belgium, Giroud has admitted there's no resentment while having mutual respect for him.

"There's a lot of mutual respect. I don't resent him," he said.

He's hoping to prove that Henry picked the wrong camp.

"My job's to be good on the pitch, to help my team. But I'd be proud to show Titi that he chose the wrong side.

Giroud, naturally, would rather have Henry giving him advice but he claims the French team have a lot of respect for the 1998 World Cup winner.

"He's a living legend of French football and we have a lot of respect for him. We have a lot of respect for what he's done, but we're not going to think about very much.

"I'd have preferred him to be with us and to be giving his advice to me."

Giroud, who has bagged an impressive 31 goals for Les Bleus, added: "He's there to learn and develop as a coach. Maybe one day he will be able to coach that France team.

"I'm sure he's learning on a daily basis and giving good advice to the Belgians."

The firepower both France and Belgium possess is truly frightening. We're talking Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann as well as the aforementioned Hazard and Lukaku.

Tuesday's semi-final fixture should be a cracker. France or Belgium - who's heading to the final?
