West Brom Troll Piers Morgan On Twitter After Arsenal Win

They went in on Piers...

In a game that was dominated by off the field matters, as an anti-Wenger banner flew over the Hawthorns before the game, West Brom heaped further misery on Arsenal today with an impressive 3-1 win.

A double from defender Craig Dawson from set pieces and a goal from Hal Robson-Kanu did the business for the Baggies and got them back to winning ways, even if things looked up for Arsenal when Alexis Sanchez equalised just moments after Dawson had opened the scoring in the first half.

Arsenal had a penalty appeal in the second half when Robson-Kanu appeared to clip Shkodran Mustafi in the box and appealed for offside for the second West Brom goal.

James McClean was in an offside position, but stepped over the ball and did not get a touch on Robson Kanu's effort.

Like all Arsenal fans, Piers Morgan was absolutely furious and as per usual, let his thoughts be known on Twitter.

And one of his major gripes was the fact that West Brom, who had 22% possession in the game, had fans chanting 'Olé' at one point in the game, much to the embarrassment of Arsenal fans.

Morgan summed up his frustrations with the following tweet:

But West Brom's official Twitter account saw that as an opportunity to stick the knife by replying with a final 'Olé'.

They also used the 'Tears for Piers' hashtag to add to Morgan's misery.

Not a good day to be an Arsenal fan.

Here are some of the best reactions on social media:

Arsene Wenger was unsurprisingly asked about his future after a fourth defeat in five Premier League outings and told journalists that he has made a decision regarding his future but wasn't ready to inform everyone following the West Brom game.

"Don't worry, I know what I will do in my future. You will soon know. Very soon. You will see. Today, I don't necessarily worry about that. I know what I do." he said.

One journalist followed up on Wenger's comments by asking whether Arsenal were aware about his decision.

He responded, by saying: "No" and also revealed that an announcement will not be made during the upcoming international break.

Wenger also assessed the difficult period he is currently enduring at Arsenal, saying:

"We are in a unique bad patch that we haven't had in 20 years. We lose game after game at the moment, and that is more important for me than my future.

"We have a big fight and it will be very difficult now, but there is no other way than fighting and we must do it until the last game of the season. If it's not good enough we take the consequences. And maybe, one day, if we don't do it, people will enjoy it more to be in there."
